2016. What a year for Wenonah; and one that we’ll never forget. A year that saw record attendance for both Summer Camp and The Camp Wenonah Centre for Outdoor Education. A year that saw Wenonah purchase next door Camp Oak-A-Lea (Wenonah Grows!) and expand our overall property size to 100 acres with close to 4,000 feet of shoreline on Clear Lake and Saw Lake.
And during 2016, we celebrated 20 years of Wenonah with 20 events and programs (Wenonah 20/20). Close to 3,000 people took part in person or online in a vast array of events, programs and initiatives designed to celebrate our 20 years of life at Wenonah. 20 years. 20 years of an ever-expanding close-knit community. 20 years of the closest friendships we can imagine. 20 years of personal challenge, growth, adventure, and success. There have been so many moments. Moments that have defined us. Moments that have enriched our lives.
This year’s Warbler looks back on this remarkable year, and ahead to many exciting developments and initiatives.
Copies of the Warbler were sent out to Camp families, staff, alumni, Women’s Weekend participants, and Outdoor Centre groups in early January. If you don’t receive yours, let us know and we’ll mail you a copy.
What a year! We can’t wait for 2017!
